Founder and Chairman of M|P, Mr. Cohen is a third-generation real estate entrepreneur with experience in the full spectrum of real estate activities. A graduate of Boston University, Mr. Cohen began his career as a property manager with a prominent New England management firm. In 1980, Mr. Cohen founded M|P with a single objective in mind: to acquire existing, well-located apartment communities and mixed-use buildings in need of strong management and financial restructuring. Over the past 40 years, the firm has been extremely active and highly successful in this endeavor.

Mr. Cohen and M|P have owned and managed over ten million square feet of residential and commercial real estate in ten states. Mr. Cohen and M|P are nationally recognized for their creative approach to problem solving. The firm assists partners, investors, lenders, and institutions in defining objectives, developing strategies and implementing plans, intended to maximize asset performance. Mr. Cohen is an active participant in each project, bringing his expertise and leadership to each situation. In addition to property management and development expertise, the M|P family of companies provides a wide and varied array of services to its investment partners, including investor servicing, debt origination, market analysis, and disposition services.

Mr. Cohen has been awarded the Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management and is an active member of the Rental Housing Association, the National Association of Realtors, and the Greater Boston Real Estate Board. Metropolitan Properties, Inc. has been named an Accredited Management Organization by the Institute of Real Estate Management.

Mr. Cohen is the Chief Investment Officer at Metropolitan Properties. Mr. Cohen oversees all of the Firm’s investment, disposition, financing, and investor relation efforts. During his time at Metropolitan, Mr. Cohen has been responsible for the acquisition and capitalization of several billion dollars worth of transaction volume in both the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast markets.

Prior to joining Metropolitan, Mr. Cohen worked within the origination team of Ladder Capital where he was responsible for the origination of both balance sheet and fixed rate securitized mortgages as well as select equity and mezzanine investments. Prior to joining Ladder Capital, Mr. Cohen worked at CIT Bank in the Real Estate Finance Group, where he was involved in the origination, underwriting, and asset management of bridge and construction mortgages.

Mr. Cohen received his B.S. in Quantitative Economics with a concentration in Monetary Policy from Tufts University.

Mr. Mun brings over 15 years of experience in acquisitions, operations, asset management, design and construction to the critical role of Chief Financial Officer. His mission is to build the infrastructure that drives the company’s growth path and vision. He brings leadership and strategic thinking to constantly develop best practices for the company’s accounting and financial reporting teams. He also strives to apply an analytical focus in all aspects of the company’s financial planning, investment analysis, and operational functions. He is a member of the investment committee and works closely with the capital markets team.

Mr. Mun joined Metropolitan in 2005 and has represented the Company in various transactional and leadership roles. Previously, Mr. Mun was Chief Investment Officer for the company and led all acquisitions and dispositions activities. His particular focus throughout his career has been on mixed-use, value-add investments in several of the largest metropolitan markets in the country.

Prior to Metropolitan, Mr. Mun was an underwriting specialist for affordable housing developments and a designer for several Boston area architectural firms. He also serves as an instructor for Harvard University’s Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate. Mr. Mun holds a Master’s in Architecture degree as well as a Master’s in Urban Planning degree, both from Harvard University. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Yale University. He is a CFA® charterholder.

Ms. Cohen is the Chief Operating Officer at Metropolitan Properties. Ms. Cohen oversees the Firm’s property operations and construction management efforts as well as marketing strategies. During her time at Metropolitan, Ms. Cohen has been responsible for the renovation of several thousand apartment units in both the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast markets as well as various other property related construction projects.

Ms. Cohen joined Metropolitan Properties in 2012 after she received her B.S in Health and Human Physiological Sciences from Skidmore College.
